Project Overview

The S1300 Mosaic Project was vitally important for Dow Chemical in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Understanding the urgency and severity, GROUP Contractors stepped up to all challenges and completed the project on time and on budget, even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project laid the groundwork for a proprietary unit in the middle of the plant and was met with numerous challenges, including underground water issues, numerous discoveries and design revisions, and a reduced workforce due to COVID-19. GROUP Contractors adapted and met expectations despite the complications.

Construction Included:

  • 243 steel pipe piles
  • 2,000 linear feet of underground firewater line
  • 5,000 cubic yards of structural concrete
  • 150 linear feet of 55-foot sheet piles
  • Limestone roadway

“GROUP’s performance was outstanding. This project was met with many challenging obstacles, ranging from plant delays to having to downsize an entire crew by 80 percent due to COVID restrictions. Hats off to David Talbot and site supervisor Dustin Cutrer for their outstanding leadership and guidance.”
